“Why do you keep doing it if it’s so hard?”
I was recently asked this after my not so subtle complaining about not sleeping on our last trip, followed by “this is why we don’t vacation with babies, it messes with their sleep schedule.”
The answer is simple, I need to travel more then I need to sleep, and as hard as it is, it’s always worth it.
One of my favorite places in the world is the International terminal at LAX, up above you on huge letters is a world (literally) of possibilities, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Brussels, just sitting there, only a plane flight away, it makes me giddy just thinking about it.
So as long as we can, we will always “go.”
Our kids are little, so for now, our adventures are too, but I know in the coming years, we will just keep going, further and further, longer and longer. The kids will hopefully have my wanderlust spirit and will embrace the unfamiliar and different, for now I’m content in the fact that they consider anywhere home as long as their family is there.
We have an amazing summer planned, the family scattered around from NYC to Kauai, and I can’t wait (as long as we have our Snoo!!)
Bon Voyage !!!
