Barefoot in Heels

Good morning!!!

Good morning!!!

So the original point of this blog was to help answer the question “how do you do it with so many kids?” Especially when it comes to travel, but I’ve kinda dropped the ball on that this summer because we’ve been so busy traveling 😆

Have kids will travel is a hashtag I use a lot, I truly think it’s the best gift you can give your children, and that the more you do it, the easier it becomes.

We’re currently in Kauai, the gadgets are gone, the T.V. is off, and we sorta just, go through the day, using our imaginations and seeing what adventures occur along the way.

Not that it’s been blissful the entire time, a noise that I can only describe as a sicada bug on crack permeated by bedroom and made the first few nights of sleep impossible (this has been fixed by switching rooms and installing the worlds loudest A.C. Unit.) This occurs once every 17 years….lucky me.

A late night, frantic phone call from our girls, who are over 6,000 miles away in NYC, about a flying cockroach was fixed, without some difficulty, with a hotel room and 2 different exterminators (are you sure you want to go to college out there?)

Then there was the trip to urgent care because there was sand in my eyes that wouldn’t come out….oddly this has happened before and I knew I needed professional help.

We’ve learned to acclimate and adjust though, Sean is the master at fixing things, and we keep on rolling.

This year we were lucky enough to have our best friends from home join us, (hi Nicole and Mike….yes you made it into my blog!!!) and we were able to bring a nanny with us to help out and get some quality time with each of the kids and each other.

Baby Hazel (yes, we changed her name, the other one wasn’t clicking) has been sleeping great because we learned our lesson in Mexico and had a Snoo shipped over (expensive but sooooooo worth it,)

Today we’re heading to the Hyatt to use the pool (after getting caught and kicked out last year we decided to actually get a room for the night, ) and order some food and relax (not that we haven’t been.)

Cheers to summer, one adventure and tantrum after another !!

Life and memories are scattered with moments that stand out, and with all these kids, we have a lot of those … everyday! 🙂
